Cat Power's Chan Marshall on Atlanta |
|
Her weaknesses: Vintage Merch. Beer. The spots: First stop is Charlie's Trading Post (648 McDonough Blvd.), a place loaded with discontinued Levi's, cords and utility boots. "It's across the street from the penitentiary," says 27-year-old Georgia native Chan. "When the guys get out of jail they probably go there for clothes." Next up is Walter's (66 Decatur St.), a shop stuffed to the rafters with dead-stock Puma, Adidas and New Balance sneakers. Finally, Chan ends her shopping quest with a $1.50 can of Pabst Blue Ribbon at the seedy Clermont Lounge (789 Ponce De Leon Ave.), site of the inaugural Cat Power gig.
